HPG-10 PISTOL PICK

The HPG-10 Pistol Pick by HPC has been around forever, it seems, and it continues to be a sales leader for the company.  When hand picks fail, manual pick guns can be lifesavers and the HPC Pistol Pick is one of the best made.

Manual pick guns such as this are an integral part of the Locksmith's arsenal.  Many Locksmiths prefer them over hand picks.  Once mastered, a tool like the Pistol Pick is capable of defeating most any pin tumbler lock cylinder, with the exception of 'high security' hardware such as Medeco, Abloy and Everest.

While primarily intended for use on pin tumbler locks, I've had some limited success on wafer locks as well.  After all, the percussion technique that the Pistol Pick employs should in theory work on any kind of spring-driven tumbler, provided there is no secondary locking system employed (such as side-bars, revolving pins, and second shear lines).
