These locks are designed and manufactured by LearnLocks. You'll find three different kinds in our selection, as illustrated above. Mortise locks, otherwise known as mortise cylinders, are used primarily in commercial glass door hardware, though they are also found in heavy duty commercial doors with exit hardware. The inner workings are identical to those of the key-in-knob cylinders . . . only the size and shape of the surrounding housing is different. It should be noted here that the locks above will not fit Practice Lock Stands made by LockPickersMall.com, except for the Universal Stand. The LearnLocks Cut Away Mortise Locks do fit nicely in the stand made expressly for them by the same company . . . which is also available here at our web site. Mortise locks are sometimes used in deadbolts, but not often. Lori deadbolts are one of the very few designs incorporating mortise cylinders (Lori is now owned by Ilco).
